Installation Requirements:
- The Thermographic camera requires a PoE 802.3af compliant network switch or use of the 12VDC power supply.
- The Blackbody reference unit comes with a power supply that accepts 110-230VAC which is converted to 24VDC (3.5A).
- Position the Thermographic camera and Blackbody reference unit 6.5' - 7.5' above ground.
- The Thermographic camera must be between 10' - 16' away from the Blackbody reference unit.
- The Thermographic camera must have the Blackbody reference unit in its field of view.
- The best horizontal distance between the camera and a person's face is 13'.
- The angle between the thermographic camera and a person's face should not exceed 25 degrees.
- Do not install the camera opposite an exterior door, air conditioner, or any location where the sun can shine directly onto the camera.
- Each Thermographic camera requires it's own Blackbody reference unit.
Environmental Considerations:
- The field of view at approximately 16' feet from the camera is 12' wide.
- It is estimated the human body needs approximately 30 seconds to adjust to ambient temperature when coming in from outside. The physical installation needs to take this time into account by either moving the equipment further into the room or by utilizing barriers to funnel people through a specific path.
- Installing the camera straight relative to a human face will yield the best results.
- For best accuracy, install the system indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.
- If the system is installed outdoors, a tent or enclosed area is required. The Blackbox reference unit is not outdoor rated. The temperature reading may differ from the actual reading in this scenario and an adjustment will be required in the CMS software to compensate for the difference.
- For accurate temperature measurements (+/- 0.3 degrees) install the camera in an area without strong airflow. Ensure the detection field is away from any object that could produce airflow or high ambient temperature.
